What happens if the tests show one or both of us have fertility issues?
If either or both of your tests show you could have fertility problems, you should contact your GP to discuss the results and work out the next steps to get the best fertility treatment and solutions for you as a couple.
We have set up our own Fertell freephone information line to offer the help and support you may need after taking the male or female fertility test. We have qualified nurses manning the phones that understand what your results mean to you and can take you through the next steps.
If you are calling from the UK the freephone number is 0800 731 8267
If you are calling from the Republic of Ireland the freephone number is 1800 882 367
There are also many experienced and understanding counselling networks, information packed websites and support groups that can help and give rational and sympathetic advice.
What happens if the results show no issues for both of us?
Fertell does not detect all causes of infertility so if the results suggest there is no issue with motile sperm concentration or ovarian reserve but you fall into the following groups, then you should consult your GP as there maybe other factors affecting your fertility:
- you (female) are under 35 and you have been trying for over 12 months
- you (female) are over 35 and have been trying for over 6 months
- you (female) have no period or have irregular periods (cycles longer than 35 days or less than 21 days).
